Method and sources

Liquidations are what the exchanges themselves report: the public liquidation feeds of Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit, Kraken, Bitget, Gate and HTX, collected by us since 14 October 2026 (Deribit and Kraken from their liquidation-flagged trades). Each is valued at its quantity times its fill price, or at its USD face value for inverse contracts, and summed per hour, longs and shorts apart. These are the same hourly values as our liquidation charts.

Binance publishes at most one liquidation per contract per second, so its totals are lower bounds. OKX's come from its public liquidation record, complete since 24 October 2026. Venues we do not collect are not included, so the totals understate the whole market. "All coins" adds up every coin we cover on the venues where we collect it (62 coins); the other coins' figures run through 12:01 UTC.

The hourly totals on this page are free to reuse under CC BY 4.0, crediting CryptoKeyhole with a link to this page (licence and reuse). Single liquidations are the exchanges' own records and are not ours to license.

Questions

What is a crypto liquidation?

When a leveraged futures position loses enough that its margin no longer covers it, the exchange closes it by force. A long position is liquidated by selling, a short by buying, so waves of liquidations push the price further in the direction it was already moving.

How much was liquidated in the last 24 hours?

$128.5M across the 62 coins we cover, since 16:00 UTC yesterday: $84.1M of longs and $44.3M of shorts. Bitcoin $47.0M, Ethereum $56.7M.

Why are long liquidations usually bigger when the price falls?

A falling price pushes leveraged longs below their margin first, and each forced sale can push the price down onto the next long's level. A rising price does the same to shorts.

Which exchanges are included?

Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit, Kraken, Bitget, Gate and HTX. Binance publishes at most one liquidation per contract per second, so its figures are lower bounds; venues we do not collect are not included.

How often is this page updated?

Every few minutes from our own collection; the single liquidations come from our live tape as they happen.
