BTC: Global Broad Money (USD)
Bitcoin Global Broad Money (USD) was 119,645.85 billion USD in Jul 2026 (latest monthly value).
The broad money of ten large economies (the United States, China, the euro area, Japan, the United Kingdom, India, South Korea, Canada, Australia and Switzerland) added up in US dollars, monthly, from official central-bank and OECD statistics.
Why use it. Global broad money, often called global M2 or global liquidity, is a common gauge of how much money there is worldwide; bitcoin and other risk assets are often compared with it. How to read it. Higher values mean more money in dollar terms. Part of every move is exchange rates: a weaker dollar raises the dollar value of the other economies' money without any new money being created. A month appears only when all ten economies have published it, so the latest point is usually a month or two old. The free global liquidity page shows the same total with its change at constant exchange rates, each economy's contribution and bitcoin against it.
Calculation. Each economy's official figure in its own currency (M2 for the United States, China, the euro area, Japan, Canada and Switzerland; M3 for India and Australia; national broad money for the United Kingdom and South Korea), converted at the Federal Reserve's G.5/H.10 average exchange rate for that month and summed with exact decimal arithmetic. Sources: Federal Reserve H.6 and G.5/H.10, ECB statistics, the Bank of Japan, the Bank of Canada, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Swiss National Bank, and OECD Monthly Monetary and Financial Statistics for China, the United Kingdom, India and South Korea. Seasonally adjusted where the publisher adjusts (China, India and Switzerland are not). Each point is a reference month at its first day, not a release date; publishers revise recent months.
