Each row is measured over its own period, so the rows are not added up. Exchanges and long-term holders are holdings (a rise means more coins arrived than left); ETFs and companies are what the funds and filings report. A transfer between wallets we cannot identify is not a purchase or a sale and is not counted anywhere.

From each issuer's own end-of-day holdings file: a fund's flow is the change in the bitcoin it holds from one trading day to the next. A day counts once every fund has published it, so the latest complete day can lag by a day or two. Not included, because their issuers' sites refuse automated readers: GBTC and BTC (Grayscale); BTCW (WisdomTree); BRRR (CoinShares); MSBT (Morgan Stanley); their flows are missing from every total here. Fund by fund for every day: Bitcoin ETF flows.

From the companies' own SEC filings (8-K, 10-Q, 10-K), as our treasury ledger accepts them; a company reports when it chooses, so a quiet month says nothing about purchases in between. Every company with its latest figure: Bitcoin treasury companies. Our ledger last checked every company's filings at 18:37 UTC on 27 Oct 2026.
New coins mined
- Each block now pays its miner a subsidy of 3.125 BTC in new coins, about 450 BTC a day at 144 blocks a day. Over the 7 UTC days to 26 Oct 2026 our node counted 3,381.25 BTC, 483.04 BTC a day.
- New coins are the only bitcoin that did not come from an earlier holder: every other purchase on this page is bitcoin someone else sold.

By UTC day, a transfer is what one transaction pays to one address other than its own inputs (our Largest Transfer and Large Transfers charts). The past 24 hours list each transaction paying 1,000 BTC or more in total to addresses other than its own; covered exchanges are named and every other wallet is unidentified, and most of the largest moves are custodians and exchanges reorganising their own wallets. As they happen: the live tape.

Compare plansHow the page is put together
Bitcoin changes hands in many places at once, and no single number says who is buying. This page puts the channels we can measure side by side, each over its own period, and says where each comes from.
- US spot ETFs: the change in each fund's bitcoin from its issuer's own end-of-day holdings file. A trading day is complete once every fund has published it; US dollar amounts use our BTC/USD close for that day.
- Companies: the bitcoin holdings stated in companies' SEC filings, as our treasury ledger reads and accepts them. A change is the latest figure minus the company's previous filed figure; the dates between are not known.
- Exchanges and long-term holders: balances counted from our own Bitcoin node, at each UTC day's close; the change is against the close 30 days earlier.
- New coins: each block's coinbase outputs minus its fees, by the UTC day of the block.
- Old coins and large transfers: every confirmed transaction from our node, by block time. Coin age is the time since the spent coin was created.
Not covered: over-the-counter desks, funds outside the US, private companies and individuals who do not report, and transfers between wallets we cannot identify. Nothing is estimated to fill those gaps. Free to reuse under CC BY 4.0, crediting CryptoKeyhole with a link to this page.

Questions
Who is buying bitcoin right now?
How much bitcoin did the US spot ETFs buy or sell?
How much new bitcoin is mined each day?
Are exchanges' bitcoin balances rising or falling?
Why does each row have a different period?
Each source reports on its own clock: ETF issuers once per trading day after the US close, companies whenever they file, and the blockchain block by block. Adding them up would mix different days, so the page keeps each row's own period and date.
Does moving old coins mean someone is selling?
Not always. Old coins move when a holder sells, but also when they change wallets, split coins or a custodian reorganises. Coins sent to an exchange are a stronger hint of a sale than coins moved between private wallets.
