Did big moves follow?

Across 29 coins, the median move in the 24 hours after an extreme reading was 1.20 times the same coin's usual 24-hour move, and 0.92 times after a low one. That is the size of the move only: the gauge is not graded on direction.

How the gauge is calculated

Each coin's gauge is the mean of up to six component scores: open interest against market cap, funding, the futures basis, the long/short account ratio, Hyperliquid's large accounts and the nearest liquidation cluster. Every component is ranked against the coin's own readings of the past 365 days (at least 30 days of them), so 80 means today's mix is more stretched than most of that coin's past year. Funding, basis and positioning count in either direction. Bands: low 0 to 39, elevated 40 to 59, high 60 to 74, extreme 75 to 100. Each coin's page lists its own sources and any component it lacks.

Questions

Which coins are most overleveraged right now?

The ranking of every coin by its gauge is on Plus. Each coin's current reading is free on its own page.

Is Bitcoin overleveraged right now?

The Bitcoin leverage gauge reads 86 of 100 (extreme) for this hour so far (16:00 UTC to 16:14 UTC, provisional): among the most stretched hours of the past year.

What does a high reading mean?

That positions are more stretched than usual for that coin: more open interest for its size, funding or positioning far from normal, or a large cluster of liquidation levels near the price. The record shows bigger moves followed such hours, in either direction.

Can I get an alert when the gauge rises?

Yes, on Plus: the gauge of every coin is a chart in the Studio, and a threshold alert on it sends an in-app and browser notification when it crosses your level.
