BTC: CME Bitcoin Asset Managers Spreading Positions — CFTC Weekly

CME Bitcoin Asset Managers Spreading Positions — CFTC Weekly was 404 contracts in the week of 26 Oct 2026 (latest weekly value).

Weekly CME Bitcoin futures spreading positions reported separately for the CFTC asset-manager trader category, in contracts of five BTC each.

Why use it. Separate this category's reported spreading positions from its directional long and short counts. How to read it. Higher values mean more spreading contracts for the category. The count contributes equally to long-side and short-side reconciliation, so it is not a signed directional position and should not be added twice to open interest. Categories describe reported business type, not trade intent, and changes can reflect trader reclassification as well as positions. This is one CME contract, futures only. History starts with the report week plotted at 2018-04-09; missing reports stay gaps, and the current snapshot may include corrections.

Calculation. Use the separately reported asset-manager spreading count from the official CFTC Traders in Financial Futures report for CME Bitcoin contract 133741, futures only. Each point is plotted at its report week's Monday; the exact report-as-of date stays in every observation. Reports normally describe Tuesday positions and are released Friday at 15:30 Eastern, with holiday and other exceptions; release instants are not inferred from that schedule. Every fetched vintage is retained, and no historical known-then availability is claimed. Any moving average is calculated over weekly observations.
