BTC: CME Micro Bitcoin Dealers Net Positions — CFTC Weekly

CME Micro Bitcoin Dealers Net Positions — CFTC Weekly was 3,254 contracts in the week of 26 Oct 2026 (latest weekly value).

The weekly net CME Micro Bitcoin futures position of the CFTC dealer trader category: long minus short contracts, at 0.1 BTC per contract.

Why use it. See whether this reported trader category holds more long or more short contracts, and how that balance changes from week to week. How to read it. Positive values mean more long than short contracts; negative values mean more short than long. Net is a difference, not an additional position count, and separately reported spreading positions enter neither side. Categories describe reported business type, not trade intent, and changes can reflect trader reclassification as well as positions. This is one CME contract, futures only, not all exchanges or options. History starts with the report week plotted at 2021-05-03; missing reports stay gaps, and the current snapshot may include corrections.

Calculation. Subtract the dealer short count from the dealer long count, exactly, using the official CFTC Traders in Financial Futures report for CME Micro Bitcoin contract 133742, futures only. Each point is plotted at its report week's Monday; the exact report-as-of date stays in every observation. Reports normally describe Tuesday positions and are released Friday at 15:30 Eastern, with holiday and other exceptions; release instants are not inferred from that schedule. Every fetched vintage is retained, and no historical known-then availability is claimed. Any moving average is calculated over weekly observations.
