BTC: US Spot ETFs
US spot Bitcoin ETFs from the issuers’ own daily holdings files: how many coins the funds hold, how much flowed in or out each day and by fund, what that is in dollars and as a share of all bitcoin, and what the funds’ buyers paid on average against today’s price.
US Spot Bitcoin ETFs
Each fund publishes the bitcoin it holds every trading day. We read those files directly and build the totals, the daily flows and the funds’ average cost from them; days the issuers do not publish (weekends and US holidays) carry no new reading.
Flows are the change in coins held, so they include creations and redemptions but no estimates. The cost basis values each day’s net coins at that day’s closing price, so it shows what the funds’ holders paid on average.
A few funds publish late or not at all on some days; each panel’s info shows which funds are complete for the latest day.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Total Holdings (Daily, Issuer Files)
The total bitcoin held by the US spot bitcoin ETFs whose issuers publish daily files. One line for how much bitcoin the ETFs hold, day by day. One point per US trading day. A step on the day a fund joins the coverage is that fund's holdings being counted from then, not a flow; use the net flow chart for flows.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Balances by Fund (Daily, Issuer Files)
The bitcoin held by each US spot bitcoin ETF on each trading day, stacked by fund, as the issuers' own daily files state it. The spot ETFs hold a large share of all bitcoin; their daily holdings show how fast investor demand comes and goes and which funds take it. One point per US trading day, dated the day the holdings are as of; each band is one fund and the bands add up to the total of the funds included. Rising bands mean the fund created shares (took in bitcoin), falling bands that it redeemed them.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Holdings as a Share of Bitcoin Supply (Daily)
The bitcoin held by the US spot bitcoin ETFs included, as a share of all bitcoin in existence. Shows how much of the supply the ETFs have absorbed. A rising share means the funds are taking in bitcoin faster than new coins are issued. Steps on the day a fund joins the coverage are coverage, not demand.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Assets in US Dollars by Fund (Daily)
The value in US dollars of the bitcoin held by each US spot bitcoin ETF collected daily, stacked by fund. The size of the funds in dollars, day by day, and how much of it each fund holds. One point per US trading day, dated the day the holdings are as of; each band is one fund and the bands add up to the funds' total. It moves with the price as well as with flows; the net flow charts show the flows alone. A step on the day a fund joins the coverage is its holdings being counted from then.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Net Flows (Daily, Issuer Files)
The total daily net flow of the US spot bitcoin ETFs included, in bitcoin. Net ETF demand in bitcoin each day: positive values mean the funds together took in more bitcoin than they paid out. One bar per US trading day, dated the day the holdings are as of. Sum the bars over a period for its net flow; a day missing from an issuer's history is left out rather than filled.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Flows by Fund (Daily, Issuer Files)
The daily change in each US spot bitcoin ETF's bitcoin, stacked by fund. Daily creations and redemptions in bitcoin: the most direct daily read of ETF demand. One bar per US trading day; positive values are net inflows, negative values net outflows, and the bands add up to the net flow of the funds included.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Net Flows (Quarterly, SEC Filings)
The total change in the bitcoin held by the US spot bitcoin ETFs over each calendar quarter. Net ETF demand in bitcoin: positive values mean the funds together took in more bitcoin than they paid out over the quarter. One bar per quarter, dated the quarter end. Compare quarters with each other, not with daily flow series: a value is the net of a whole quarter.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Cost Basis (Daily, Issuer Files)
The average price the US spot bitcoin ETFs collected daily paid for the bitcoin they hold: their total cost divided by their bitcoin, in US dollars per BTC. It is where ETF holders as a group break even: with the price above it the funds' bitcoin is worth more than it cost, below it less. Large inflows at prices above the line pull it up. One point per US trading day, dated the day the holdings are as of, on the same axis as the price. The gap between the price and the line is the funds' average unrealized profit or loss per BTC; outflows leave at each fund's average cost and do not move it.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Cost Basis by Fund (Daily, Issuer Files)
Each US spot bitcoin ETF's own cost basis: what it paid on average for the bitcoin it holds, one line per fund, with the funds together as the main line. Funds that took in most of their bitcoin at different times carry very different costs: a fund that grew early holds cheaper bitcoin than one that grew late. One point per US trading day for each fund on the days it is included. A fund whose earlier holdings come from its quarter-end filings is estimated before its daily record starts (the information below names them).
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF MVRV (Daily, Issuer Files)
The ratio of the bitcoin price to the US spot bitcoin ETFs' cost basis: market value over cost of the bitcoin they hold. Above 1 the funds hold a profit on their bitcoin, below 1 a loss; how far from 1 shows how much room holders have before they are under water, or how deep they are. One point per US trading day. 1.25 means the funds' bitcoin is worth 25% more than it cost; 0.9 means 10% less.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Unrealized Profit/Loss (Daily, Issuer Files)
The US spot bitcoin ETFs' unrealized profit or loss in US dollars: the value of their bitcoin at the close minus what it cost them. Shows in dollars how much the funds' holders are up or down on the bitcoin the funds hold, all together. One point per US trading day; above zero the funds hold a profit, below zero a loss. It moves with the price and with the size of the funds.
BTC: US Spot Bitcoin ETF Realized Profit/Loss (Daily, Issuer Files)
The profit or loss the US spot bitcoin ETFs realize each day on the bitcoin that leave them: coins redeemed, sold to pay fees or paid out as staking rewards, valued at the close against each fund's average cost. Outflows at a profit and outflows at a loss mean different things: holders taking gains near a top, or giving up at a loss after a fall. One bar per US trading day with a complete net flow; positive values are profits taken, negative values losses. Days with only inflows show zero.
