BTC: 20-week simple moving average
Bitcoin 20-week simple moving average was $73,169.47 on 7 Nov 2026 (latest daily value).
The 20-week (140-day) simple moving average of the daily BTC close: one edge of the bull market support band.
Why use it. In past bull markets price tended to hold above the band this line bounds and to bounce from it in corrections. How to read it. Price above the line is the bullish case; weeks below it, with the line turning down, describe a weakening market.
Calculation. Arithmetic mean of the last 140 daily closes. Daily closes stand in for weekly candles, so the line moves every day. This is one line of the chart "Bull Market Support Band"; it is published separately so it can be charted, compared and exported alone. Daily closes are the accepted daily valuation prices: historical closes from The Bitcoin Time Machine (CC BY 4.0) until 3 October 2026, then our own recorded quotes; they stay provisional and revisable. A missing or invalid close leaves every window containing it empty; nothing is interpolated.
