BTC: Log-Quote MACD Daily - Line
Bitcoin Log-Quote MACD Daily - Line was -0.0185 log ratio on 7 Nov 2026 (latest daily value).
The main daily log-price momentum line: the 12-observation EMA of natural-log BTC price minus its 26-observation EMA.
Why use it. Follow whether the faster price average is above or below the slower one, as a gauge of price momentum. How to read it. Positive values mean the faster average is above the slower one; negative values mean it is below. The line shares one linear log-ratio scale with its signal and histogram, not a dollar spread; the BTC quote uses its own USD scale. Daily sampling differs from the hourly method. A gap resets both EMAs, so values resume only after fresh seeds. Points are UTC days labelled at the day start, the open day a labelled partial; values are provisional and revisable. These are price comparisons, not forecasts.
Calculation. Main line = EMA12 - EMA26 of the natural log of positive admitted daily closing quotes. Each EMA seeds with the arithmetic mean of its first N adjacent valid values, then uses alpha = 2/(N+1); a missing or nonpositive quote resets it. State runs over the full contiguous history with 40-digit decimal arithmetic, and source revisions can change results.
