BTC: Log-Quote MACD Daily - Histogram
Bitcoin Log-Quote MACD Daily - Histogram was -0.00424 log ratio on 7 Nov 2026 (latest daily value).
The daily log-price momentum histogram: the main line (12-observation minus 26-observation EMA of natural-log BTC price) minus its 9-observation signal line.
Why use it. Show how far the main momentum line sits above or below its signal, and when that gap widens, narrows or changes sign. How to read it. Positive bars mean the main line is above its signal; negative bars mean it is below, and zero marks a crossing. Bars use a linear log-ratio scale, not a dollar spread; the BTC quote uses its own USD scale. Daily sampling differs from the hourly method. A gap resets every EMA, so values resume only after fresh seeds. Points are UTC days labelled at the day start, the open day a labelled partial; values are provisional and revisable. These are price comparisons, not forecasts.
Calculation. Histogram = (EMA12 - EMA26 of the natural log of positive admitted daily closing quotes) - EMA9 of that difference. Each EMA seeds with the arithmetic mean of its first N adjacent valid values, then uses alpha = 2/(N+1); the signal seeds from valid main-line values. State runs over the full contiguous history with 40-digit decimal arithmetic, and source revisions can change results.
