BTC: Valuation Percentile Ranks
Bitcoin Valuation Percentile Ranks: daily data through 7 Nov 2026.
Where five BTC valuation ratios stand within their own history, as percentile ranks from 0 to 100: MVRV (price ÷ realized price), STH-MVRV (price ÷ short-term holder realized price), the AVIV ratio (price ÷ true market mean), the Mayer Multiple (price ÷ 200-day average) and the 200-week multiple (price ÷ 200-week average).
Why use it. A percentile says how unusual a reading is without a fixed threshold or a bell curve: 95 means the ratio has been at or below today's level on 95% of all days so far. Putting five ratios on one scale shows at a glance whether cost-basis and trend measures agree. How to read it. Near 50 a reading is ordinary. 90 or more: higher than on nine days in ten so far, as in late-cycle rallies; 10 or less: lower than on nine days in ten, as near cycle lows. Ranks are against all history to the day, early cycles included, and later cycles have reached less extreme readings; a rank is not a forecast.
Calculation. Each day: rank = 100 × (the days so far, the day included, whose ratio was at or below the day's) ÷ (the days so far). Only data up to the day is used. A ratio's line starts once 730 daily values of it exist. The bases are the published Realized Price, Short-Term Holder Realized Price and True Market Mean charts and the 200- and 1,400-day simple averages of the daily closes (a missing close leaves the averages over it empty). Realized prices are computed from our own validated Bitcoin Core node: each unspent coin is valued at the price at the start of the UTC day it was created. BTC/USD closes are the site's admitted daily closes (The Bitcoin Time Machine, CC BY 4.0, until 2 October 2026, then quotes recorded from Alternative.me). Values for closed days are provisional, like their inputs, and change if an input is revised; the open day is a partial from the latest hourly quote and the inputs' own partials, recomputed every ten minutes.
