BTC: Close-Anchored Retracement Levels
Bitcoin Close-Anchored Retracement Levels: daily data through 7 Nov 2026.
Seven USD levels between BTC's running highest daily closing quote and the fixed 2022-11-21 closing quote, at fractions 0, 0.236, 0.382, 0.5, 0.618, 0.786 and 1.
Why use it. Place price within the span between the 2022-11-21 close and the highest close to date, using fixed fractional levels. How to read it. Level 0 is the running highest close and level 1 the anchor close; the lines are separate and never summed. With the anchor fixed, levels 0 to 0.786 change only when a new highest close is set, and level 1 stays flat. The high uses closing quotes from the start of retained history, not intraday highs, and never a later peak. Lines appear only from 2022-11-21, and a quote gap makes all later running highs unknown. Values are provisional and revisable; these are comparison levels, not forecasts or trading signals.
Calculation. Each level = H - fraction × (H - A), where H is the greatest positive admitted daily closing quote from the start of retained history to the displayed day and A is the fixed 2022-11-21 closing quote. Points are UTC days labelled at the day start, the open day a labelled partial. Historical quotes are retrospective, with unknown original publication time and venue; prospective quotes keep their actual observation and retrieval clocks. The full retained history is computed before the view is filtered.
