Why use it. An on-chain quote calculated from our own Ethereum node, independent of any exchange: it shows where the largest decentralized WBTC market traded, and how far it sat from centralized prices. How to read it. Read it as the pool's average price over the period; it moves with BTC but can differ from it when WBTC trades at a premium or discount or the pool is thin (see its liquidity chart). It is not a BTC/USD substitute.

Calculation. From the pool's tick accumulator at the last finalized block at or before each period boundary: quote = 100 × exp(ln(1.0001) × tick change ÷ seconds), WBTC with 8 and USDC with 6 decimals. Only finalized Ethereum blocks are used. History from 2021-05-06, the first full day after the pool was created. Wrapped BTC and USDC are distinct assets from native BTC and US dollars. Daily resolution includes a labelled current-day partial through the latest completed UTC hour available in finalized Ethereum state.
