BTC: Daily Quote - 90-Day Standard Deviation
Bitcoin Daily Quote - 90-Day Standard Deviation was $5,926.27 on 7 Nov 2026 (latest daily value).
How much Bitcoin's daily close has varied over the last 90 days: the standard deviation of the closes, in dollars.
Why use it. It sizes the recent price range, the width behind volatility bands. How to read it. Higher means bigger price swings in dollar terms over the quarter.
Calculation. Exact definition: The population standard deviation of admitted daily closing BTC/USD quotes over the trailing 90 days. Higher values mean the window's daily quotes were more spread out around their mean, in US dollars per bitcoin; this is dispersion of price levels, not of returns. A missing quote invalidates every window containing it, with no carry or interpolation. Day D uses the following 00:00 UTC quote; earlier quotes are retrospective closes with unknown publication time, venue and vintage, later ones keep their actual clocks, values are provisional and revisable, and the open day is a labelled partial. std(a if a > 0, otherwise undefined, 90): the population standard deviation, dividing by N, of the latest 90 adjacent daily values of each UTC day's positive admitted ending-boundary BTC/USD quote. Computed over the full retained history before viewport selection, with existing 40-digit Decimal arithmetic.
