BTC: Price Temperature - Full 1460-Day Sample Window
Bitcoin Price Temperature - Full 1460-Day Sample Window was 0.345 standard deviations on 7 Nov 2026 (latest daily value).
Bitcoin's price temperature: how many standard deviations the daily close sits above or below its 4-year average.
Why use it. Four years spans a halving cycle, so the reading shows how stretched the price is against its own cycle. How to read it. Zero means the price equals its 4-year average; high readings have come at cycle tops and negative ones at bottoms.
Calculation. Exact definition: How many sample standard deviations BTC's daily closing quote sits above or below the mean of its trailing 1460 daily closes. Zero means the close equals the 1460-day mean; +2 means two sample deviations above it, and negative values mean below. The value is dimensionless and uses its own axis, separate from price levels. Levels are statistical comparisons, not probabilities or trading thresholds. A full window is required; zero deviation leaves the value undefined and missing days leave gaps. Weekly (Monday start) and monthly views sample the daily value at each closed period's ending UTC boundary, labelled at the period start; open periods are omitted. Values are provisional and revisable. (Close minus the arithmetic mean of 1460 consecutive positive admitted daily closes including the endpoint) / (the population standard deviation of the same window × the square root of 1460/1459), which is the sample deviation with divisor 1459. There is no early-history seed, interpolation or removal of missing days. Historical quotes are retrospective, with unknown original publication time and venue. Weekly and monthly points use the daily output labelled one day before the period's ending boundary, never carried forward.
