BTC: Close / 2015-01-14 Cycle-Low Close
Daily BTC close divided by the 2015-01-14 cycle-low close of $164.92, from that low to the next cycle peak.
Why use it. Shows how strongly the recovery and bull market grew from this cycle's bear-market bottom. How to read it. Starts at 1× on the low; 10× means the close was ten times the low. A log scale makes cycles easier to compare.
Calculation. Daily close ÷ cycle-low close. Cycle lows are the lowest daily closes between consecutive cycle peaks, fixed after the fact. This is one line of the chart "BTC Price Multiple Since Each Cycle Low"; it is published separately so it can be charted, compared and exported alone. Calculated from our own validated Bitcoin Core node history; final once the closed UTC day has six confirmations. Daily closes are the accepted daily valuation prices: historical closes from The Bitcoin Time Machine (CC BY 4.0), then our own recorded Alternative.me quotes; they stay provisional and revisable.
