BTC: Price Temperature - Mean Plus 2 Sample Deviations
Bitcoin Price Temperature - Mean Plus 2 Sample Deviations was $124,837.45 on 7 Nov 2026 (latest daily value).
A USD price band at the 1460-day mean of BTC's daily closing quotes plus two sample standard deviations of the same window.
Why use it. Translate a price temperature of 2 into a USD level that can be compared directly with BTC's close. How to read it. A close above this band means a temperature above 2; below it, under 2. The band shares the USD/BTC scale with the other temperature bands, which are separate lines, never summed. It is a statistical comparison level, not a probability or trading threshold. A full 1460-day window is required and missing days leave gaps; with zero deviation the band equals the mean. Weekly (Monday start) and monthly views sample the daily value at each closed period's ending UTC boundary, omitting open periods. Values are provisional and revisable.
Calculation. Band = arithmetic mean + 2 × sample standard deviation of exactly 1460 consecutive positive admitted daily closing quotes including the endpoint; the sample deviation is the population deviation × the square root of 1460/1459, a variance divisor of 1459. There is no early-history seed, interpolation or removal of missing days. Weekly and monthly points use the daily output labelled one day before the period's ending boundary, never carried forward.
